Feeling 1350

2019 Season

Interesting start to the season.  Boat was ready to go in water at end of February.. Had boat launched at Ardrossan, then the winds came and trashed the sprayhood, and the Wheel cover simply vanished! So new ones now on order! At end of March sailed back to Oban, overnighting in Campbell Town and Craighouse Bay, single handed. Easy sail, which is great for one's confidence. Rest of April busy with non sailing activities,  so off till May.

Sailing

Feeling Free at home in Dunstaffnage Marina, near Oban.     A great base for the West Coast.

Back up at beginning April.

I have a Feeling 1350, and would like to find out more about this model of boat, and would like to get in contact with other owners  of this model of boat.

I bought Feeling Free in early 2017 from the Netherlands, and sailed her back to Oban. Since then I have updated the Electronics but otherwise little work has been needed.  The previous owner had replaced the engine, standing rigging, sails and had the boat treated for osmosis and Coppercoated.

“Feeling Free” is a Ron Holland designed Feeling 1350. It’s a classic from a "golden era" in terms of French production yachts. She is a very high quality yacht, similar in all respects to the Ron Holland designed Swan Nautor 43, which he designed a year earlier. She is an “Owners” version, with three cabins sleeping  6, and two heads. She has a three burner oven and a large fridge unit, with hot water from either a mains immersion heater ( using either shore power or her on board generator) or the engine. She has had much money spent on her upkeep over the years. “Feeling Free” had a Volvo D2 55HP engine fitted in 2002. In that year she was treated for osmosis (2002) and painted Grey (Axel Paint) and Coppercoated . The standing rigging was renewed in 2007, when her sails were replaced with high tech versions. Internally she is in excellent condition for her age. In the last year she has had new life raft, tender and outboard, as well as new B&G instruments and Raymarine autopilot, so is truly ready to go! She has a new sail stack and spray hood. To help handle the loads all of her winches can be powered by a hand held battery power tool, making single handed sailing easy!. She is currently based at Dunstaffnage Marina, nr. Oban.
